Video Interview with Farruquito

Dancer Farruquito (Juan Manuel Fernández Montoya) is one of the most renowned bailaores in the young generation of Flamenco. In the interview with journalist Teresa Peña, member of the working group of Flamenco curator Gonzalo Montaño Peña at RomArchive, he talks about his artistic beginnings and how he learned Flamenco Gitano from his grandfather, the famous bailaor Farruco. “The Flamenco dance obeys the traditional forms and rhythms of flamenco. But if we’re talking about Flamenco Gitano, we’re talking about true-life experience, the customs of a people. So, there are differences.”
