Archive Section Politics of Photography
The Archive Section Politics of Photography reflects on basic questions facing photographic archives, as well as on the challenge of dealing with discriminatory images. Based on these two aspects, the archive section will develop a set of democratic requirements for the creation of a Roma Archive and the formulation of its representational policies. The goal of this archive section is to engender and collect emancipatory narratives and to foster a stronger awareness of various documentary and media genres. Fundamental to this process is a committed photodocumentary practice, one that communicates the minority’s socio-political experience in a humane way.
